October is National Seafood Month!

We love October because it is a month dedicated to one of our very favorite things - SEAFOOD!  October is listed as National Seafood Month, and what better place to celebrate than the best seafood restaurant at the Lake of the Ozarks!  With many varieties to choose from, JB Hook's is the perfect spot to enjoy an old favorite or discover a new ocean or freshwater fish dish. 

A lot of health benefits come with eating seafood.  It is rich in nutrients, plus a wonderful source of protein, vitamins, and minerals.  Another great thing is that it provides healthy omega-3 fatty acids, and is very low in omega-6 fatty acids, or "bad fats," that are found in red meat.  Studies have even been done that allow seafood to be categorized as "brain food."

JB Hook's has an incredible selection of seafood choices for lunch, Happy Hour, and dinner.  Here are a few ideas of what you can order when you come in.  

LUNCH

Beginning at 11 am, 7 days a week, we offer an extensive lunch menu to add a little tasty fun to the middle of your day.  These are just a few of our seafood choices for your mid-day meal. 

Fish & Chips
1/2Lb of hand battered Cod filets fried to perfection served with coleslaw & raspberry chipolte sauce

Crunchy Grouper Sandwich
A Grouper filet rolled in frosted flakes, fried to a golden brown and drizzled with honey served with a side of JB Hooks' raspberry chipotle sauce

Mahi Po Boy
Deep fried Mahi-Mahi served on a hoagie with lettuce, tomato & Hook's Signature Bam Bam sauce.



APPETIZERS


Appetizers are a very popular item at JB Hook's.  Not only are they a wonderful way to start off a spectacular meal, but during our Happy Hour in the bar, we have a large list of them that are 1/2-price!  Here are just a few from both appetizer menus.

Bam Bam Shrimp
Lightly battered shrimp drizzled with a sweet and spicy chipotle sauce

Cajun Style Calamari
Lighty dusted in flour and Cajun spices, flash fried served over peppedew pepper cocktail sauce

Hook's Coconut Shrimp
Four large shrimp encrusted in coconut and deep-fried golden brown. Served with Jezebel sauce.





Crunchy Grouper Fingers
Tasty strips of Grouper rolled in frosted flakes fried and lightly drizzled with honey and served over Raspberry Chipotle sauce.

Ahi Tuna Tacos
Crispy wonton shells stuffed with sushi grade Yellow Fin Tuna & fresh avocado salsa. Served with sushi ginger & wasabi sour cream.





DINNER


Dinner consists of delectable entree choices, our shrimp and oyster bar, and daily specials from the chef.  The best way to find out what our chef is creating is to come on in and take a look.  Here are descriptions of a few or our most popular items, and few photos of the chef specials we have previously offered.  

Austrailian Lobster Tail
One Pound N. Australian lobster tail oven broiled to perfection.

Alaskan King Crab
One Pound of King crab legs steamed in spices and served with drawn butter.

Tilapia Grand Mariner
Two Tilapia filets pan seared topped with 2 large shrimp and Grand Mariner reduction

Chef's Specials:



It is suggested that everyone eat seafood twice a week.  It's good for you and it tastes incredible.  Our Lake of the Ozarks seafood restaurant celebrates seafood all year long, but this October we plan to really focus on creating the most delicious fish in town.  We only listed a small portion of all of the amazing seafood dishes that you can order when you dine with us at JB Hook's.  You can taste a lot of different ones if you come in twice a week!
