Whiskey is a delicious, distilled alcoholic beverage that can be enjoyed in so many different ways - neat, on the rocks, with soda... Some people even use it in baking! Whisky can be made from several different kinds of ingredients, including corn, wheat, rye, and barley. These grains are mashed and then fermented. The alcohol is then distilled in its country of origin. The first whiskey was distilled in Ireland. There are several different kinds of whisky and each has a different "proof" which indicates the amount of alcohol content. 100-proof means it has 50% alcohol.
