The Duck Drop This wonderful annual event at the Lake of the Ozarks is celebrating its 11th year and offers fun for all ages. There is a golf tournament on Friday and a Family Fun Zone on Saturday along with the chance to watch thousands of rubber duckies "fly" from helicopters and out of pontoon boats into the Osage River below Bagnell Dam. There are quite a few annual events at the Lake of the Ozarks that are worth making a trip to the area for, and the 31st Annual Magic Dragon Street Meet Nationals is definitely one of them. It showcases all makes, models, and years of cars, trucks, and motorcycles. 1,000 vehicles will be on display, and thousands of people will flock to the lake area to enjoy this family fun event. The Lake of the Ozarks Shootout brings thousands of spectators to the lake area every year to enjoy watching some of the fastest boats compete for the title of "Top Gun." The main event is the timed races taking place over the weekend of Saturday and Sunday, August 25 & 26. Leading up to that, there lots of different fun events all around town, including the "Shootout on the Strip," which happens to take place just up the road from JB Hook's ! Shootout on the Strip Wednesday, August 22 Everyone gets a chance to check out the amazing Shootout racing boats, as well as meet the teams behind those boats, during the Shootout on the Strip. Boats will begin lining up on Hwy. 242 at 2 pm on Wednesday afternoon, and around 3:45 pm they will caravan to the historic Bagnell Dam Strip.
