The Great Conjunction of 2020
December 21st - today! - is the Winter Solstice. Visible tonight, for the first time in 800 years, Saturn and Jupiter will get so close that they will almost look like one large celestial body. The last time these two planets were so close to one another, it was 1226. To give perspective of how long ago this actually was, that was also the time that Genghis Khan was alive, well before the Renaissance. This year's event is being called the Great Conjunction of 2020 by astronomers, and it's going to be visible just after sunset.
JB Hook's will have the perfect view of the Great Conjunction around 5:45 pm tonight! Be sure to come visit us tonight and see a potentially once-in-a-lifetime event. The next time this will occur and be visible in the night sky won't be until 2080, and then not again until after 2400. Don't miss out!
