After-Dinner Drinks - Do You Prefer Hot or Cold?

Sometimes after you have finished dining on the best seafood at the Lake of the Ozarks, there's not quite enough room left for dessert, but you're still in the mood for something else. That's where our delicious after-dinner drinks come in handy. They offer you the chance to sip a delicious beverage and spend a bit more time enjoying conversation with your fellow diners while letting that amazing JB Hook's meal settle comfortably into your stomach. 


Our after-dinner drink menu is extensive, featuring single spirits and mixed cocktails. You will find savory hot coffee drinks and scrumptious concoctions made with ice cream, or you may prefer to keep things simple and enjoy a nice Port Wine, Cognac, or a Single Malt Scotch. 

If you go the cocktail route, how do you decide whether to go with something hot or something cold? It may simply be a personal preference, the current weather outside may have something to do with it, or the fantastic drink recipes below might be what sway your decision.

If you would like to have a cocktail to unwind before dinner rather than after (although you're perfectly welcome to do both!) you might want to come in early for the best Happy Hour at the Lake of the Ozarks. The hours change slightly depending on the season, but this time of year (fall/winter) we have an extended Happy Hour every Monday-Friday from 3-8 pm, and on Sundays, it's Happy Hour all day long. 


During those hours in the bar, we offer wonderful drink specials and half-price appetizers, making it the perfect place to get started before heading into the dining room. As an added bonus, 6 days a week we also feature incredible live music in the bar from 5:30-8:30 pm. (You can find the music schedule on our website.)  

Our Lake of the Ozarks fine dining restaurant is well-known for the mouthwatering steak and seafood dishes coming out of our kitchen daily, and now you know that we also have an excellent selection of creative cocktails coming out of the bar. The Intriguing History of JB Hook's

January is a time to look ahead to a brand new year full of possibilities. It's also a wonderful time to take a look back at the things that have happened to get you where you are right now. We are very excited about the coming months for our Lake of the Ozarks steak and seafood restaurant , and we decided to take a look back of our own. JB Hook's has a very interesting history.  Name Changes The JB Hook's that you know today has seen quite a few changes happen all around the lake area, and we've also gone through many changes of our own. When this restaurant opened, it was originally called Captain Hook's. Later, that named was changed to Krazo's.  John LaFata and Bruce Elliott reopened the restaurant under its current name of JB Hook's in February of 1995.
