29th Annual Magic Dragon Street Meet Nationals

The Bagnell Dam Strip is just right up the road from your favorite seafood restaurant at the Lake of the Ozarks and will host the Annual Magic Dragon Street Meet Nationals next week. Thousands of people will flock to the Lake for a weekend full of nostalgia and impressive automobiles. JB Hook's gathered all the details of this year's event so you won't miss any of the fun.

JB Hook's is positioned in an excellent spot for getting to see all of the classic car traffic go by all weekend long. You are likely to see quite a few of those beauties parked in our Lake of the Ozarks seafood restaurant parking lot throughout the weekend. Many arrive days before the actual car show.

The Magic Dragon Street Meet Nationals is a unique show for all makes, models and years of cars, trucks and motorcycles. Last year's show had 1,000 participants and close to 10,000 spectators. The strip is closed to normal traffic during show hours, so only have show vehicles within the boundaries, which creates an electric atmosphere! It's like being on the set of "American Graffiti."

There are many exciting events taking place during the weekend, including a drawing for a 2017 Chevrolet Camaro! The Magic Dragon Street Meet is the only car show that gives away a new muscle car. The Rotary clubs are selling tickets for $20 each, and only 2,500 tickets will be sold. Tickets can be bought at Hy-Vee in Osage Beach, Hulett Chevrolet-Buick-GMC in Camdenton and Kwik Kar Car Wash in Osage Beach. The donations from the ticket sales will go to help out amazing local charities.

January is a time to look ahead to a brand new year full of possibilities. It's also a wonderful time to take a look back at the things that have happened to get you where you are right now. We are very excited about the coming months for our Lake of the Ozarks steak and seafood restaurant , and we decided to take a look back of our own. JB Hook's has a very interesting history.  Name Changes The JB Hook's that you know today has seen quite a few changes happen all around the lake area, and we've also gone through many changes of our own. When this restaurant opened, it was originally called Captain Hook's. Later, that named was changed to Krazo's.  John LaFata and Bruce Elliott reopened the restaurant under its current name of JB Hook's in February of 1995.
