Surf 'n' Turf - The Best of Both Worlds!
JB Hook's is widely known for having the best seafood and steak at the Lake of the Ozarks. That's great news for anyone that happens to love either of those foods, but if you love both of them, choosing can be a tough decision. Luckily, you don't have to choose! The delicious items featured in the Surf 'n' Turf portion of our menu offer you the best of both worlds, all on one plate!
What is Surf 'n' Turf?
The phrase Surf 'n' Turf refers to a main course that combines seafood and red meat. The "surf" portion gives you a taste of delicious items that once lived underwater and the "turf" is generally classified as a grass-fed land animal, most typically steak.
Surf 'n' Turf is popularly served in the United States, Canada, and Australia. It's not completely clear who exactly coined the phrase but it is believed to have originated in the early 1960s. More than likely these two incredible foods were being enjoyed together long before that. After all, any meal combining those two flavors, especially when it's coming out of the kitchen at JB Hook's, makes a dish that is simply irresistible.
