Give Dad The Gift of Time With You This Father's Day
Father's Day is coming up soon (Sunday, June 17 this year) and JB Hook's knows what all dads want most - quality time with their kids! The lake area is an excellent place to do just that. In addition to enjoying a great meal together at our steak & seafood restaurant at the Lake of the Ozarks, there are tons of fun things to do before or after that. Here are a few great examples for you.
Enjoy the Lake
The most unique part about this beautiful area that we are located in is our gorgeous lake, which allows you to enjoy all sorts of fun and exciting activities. If you don't own a boat, there are lots of places that rent watercraft for the day, and even some wonderful cruises that will take care of the captain duties for you while you just enjoy the ride.
Once on the water, there is tubing, water skiing, wakeboarding, and more to experience. You can even find a quiet cove to hang out in to soak up some sun and do a little swimming. The fishing is incredible at the Lake of the Ozarks too, and that can be done both from a boat and from the shore.
Explore Nature
The land at the Lake of the Ozarks is every bit as beautiful as the water! You'll find lots of places to explore and go hiking, like Bridal Cave & Thunder Mountain Park, Ha Ha Tonka State Park, and the Lake of the Ozarks State Park. That last one even has a couple of beaches for you to get in some fun in the lake while you're there. You could also get a good look at the lake from the sky with a helicopter tour or parasailing!
Get Sporty
There are over a dozen extremely impressive golf courses around the lake area. If that game is too much for you, there are plenty of miniature golf courses to tackle too. If your father likes going fast, then racing you in go-karts might be something he would enjoy. Another idea is to get out of the sun and try your hand at Lazer Tag or bounce around the trampoline park.
Feed Dad, & Feed Him Well!
Make your father feel like the VIP he is by treating him to lunch or dinner at JB Hook's. We serve lunch daily from 11 am-4 pm in the Sunset Room, our bar area, and on our covered outdoor patio, and all of those spaces feature the best lake view at the Lake of the Ozarks. Dinner begins at 5 pm nightly, and our dining shares that same breathtaking 14-mile panoramic view.
If you're over 21, you might want to bring Dad in for Happy Hour on Father's Day. It happens from 3-7 pm in the bar on Sundays this time of year, and in addition to amazing drink specials, we also offer an extensive half-price appetizer menu full of delicious dishes. You could also celebrate early on the Saturday night before in our bar area and enjoy fantastic live music from 5:30-8:30 performed by the wonderful Drew Stevens.
