Join Us for Festive Food, Drinks & Live Music for Fat Tuesday 2019
The lake area hosted a Mardi Gras pub crawl a few weeks ago, but Fat Tuesday is actually on Tuesday, March 5, 2019, this year. If you aren't going to make the trek to New Orleans to celebrate, join us at JB Hook's for some festive food, drinks, and live music! We've got a few tricks up our sleeve to add a bit of Mardi Gras flair to your evening so you won't be missing out on any of the fun.
Festive Live Music
We host the best live music at the Lake of the Ozarks in our bar area every Monday-Saturday from 5:30-8:30 pm. You can see our calendar for the entire month by visiting the JB Hook's website. This year on Fat Tuesday, the incredible Joe Farrell will be performing his solo show. Joe plays with his band, Joe Farrell & the Continentals, all over the lake area, but occasionally we get him all to ourselves!
Fantastic Food
Although we don't necessarily specialize in Cajun cuisine and are most known for being the best seafood & steak restaurant at the Lake of the Ozarks, you can still find some Creole inspiration within our menu. As you know, everything that comes out of the JB Hook's kitchen is masterfully prepared to give you the most delicious dining experience possible. For Fat Tuesday, here are a couple of suggestions to get you started.
New Orleans BBQ Shrimp
Sauteed with beer, garlic, and Cajun spices.
Cajun Style Calamari
Lightly dusted in flour and Cajun spices, flash-fried, and served with a side of cocktail sauce.
Delicious Drinks
When it comes to raising a glass to toast Mardi Gras, the drinks should be colorful, flavorful, and pack a delicious punch! One traditional cocktail of New Orleans that is very popular during Mardi Gras is the Hurricane. There are many versions of this classic rum drink, and our bartenders will happily mix up one of their own for you. We've also got a few suggestions for signature Hook's cocktails that will be perfect for the celebration too.
Hooked Lakewater
Our recipe blends coconut rum and fruity cordials with pineapple juice.
Strawberry Lemonade Mojito
Bacardi Limon, fresh strawberries, lime, and mint splashed with club soda.
Raspberry Regal
Raspberry vodka, raspberry liqueur, and sweet & sour.
Raspberry Dream
Vanilla ice cream blended with raspberry liqueur and creme de cacao.
Stay for Dinner
After (or before) you're done celebrating in the bar area, join us in the dining room too. Fat Tuesday is all about splurging on yourself, so you might as well enjoy an amazing dinner to complete the extravagant celebration! We begin serving dinner nightly at 5 pm, which leaves you plenty of time to fit everything in. You don't need to travel all the way to New Orleans for a memorable Mardi Gras. You can instead join us at JB Hook's for an excellent time in a luxurious yet casual atmosphere with other people out for a fun evening.
