Award-Winning Hot Summer Nights on the Bagnell Dam Strip
The award-winning Hot Summer Nights on the historic Bagnell Dam Strip take place on the second Friday of every month, all summer long, right up the road from our Lake of the Ozarks seafood restaurant. There are three more of these incredible events happening this year, including one big 50th anniversary celebration.
The excitement on the strip begins at 6 pm and generally wraps up around 11 pm. There are activities for the entire family to enjoy, like face painting and magicians, and it's absolutely free to attend. All makes, models, and years of every car, truck, and motorcycle are invited to line up along the strip and show itself off.
You will also experience music and entertainment, shopping, giveaways, kids' activities, and a whole lot more, come rain or come shine. Here is some detailed information about the three remaining Hot Summer Nights for 2016.
The 1960's were an intriguing decade, filled with many memorable events. It was during this era that Lake Ozark became a fourth-class city. This month will celebrate 50 years of being able to cruise up and down the historic Bagnell Dam Strip.
There will be all of your favorite 1960's music blasting over the speakers near Luby's stage, as well as some nostalgic entertainment to enjoy. As an extra-special bonus, many of the businesses along the strip will be offering 1960's prices on items throughout the weekend.
In addition to the regular fun, the Lake of the Ozarks Corvette Club will parade from Woods Supermarket to the dam and back, each carrying a veteran with them. The Fort Leonard Wood Color Guard will lead the parade, and mini American flags will be passed out to the crowd to wave as everyone passes by.
The Eldon VFW Post 2442 will give a 21-gun salute and play "TAPS." The Lake of the Ozarks Air Show takes place on Saturday, September 9, and they will make an early appearance at this event with a fly-over from KC Flight.

July 8: Rats, Rods, and Street Machines
This theme is for anyone that loves to go fast. This month people are encouraged to show off their "souped up" Hot Rods that have been modified for maximum speed. A Rat Rod is very similar, but appears to be unfinished on the outside. Street Machines simply take the entire process up another notch. If you can pull yourself away from the cool cars lined up along the strip, there will be plenty of exciting things happening all around to take part in.
