The Origin of the Delicious Moscow Mule

There are many delicious cocktails available from the bar at our Lake of the Ozarks fine dining restaurant , and among these are a few different versions of the classic Moscow Mule. This popular drink has been around for quite a while, and we decided to look into its interesting history, and here is what we found out.   The American Mule?  Although most commonly known as the "Moscow" Mule, this tasty cocktail did not originate in Russia. As a matter of fact, it was created right here in the United States, and it most likely got its name due to Russia often being associated with its main ingredient - vodka.  John G. Martin of G.F. Heublien Brothers out of Hartford, Connecticut decided to buy the Smirnoff vodka company in 1939. Our Amazing Ocean & Freshwater Fish Dinners

We're rounding out our National Seafood Month blog series with a look at the best seafood dinners at the Lake of the Ozarks . You'll find savory seafood options throughout JB Hook's dinner menu, including our steak and pasta options, but today we are focusing on the dishes that use our amazing ocean and freshwater seafood as the star of the show.  We begin serving dinner at 5:00 pm, 7 days a week. Seafood For Lunch... What A Great Idea!

Our National Seafood Month feature continues this week with more of the best seafood at the Lake of the Ozarks . This blog is all about our delicious seafood options from the lunch menu. Everyone knows that JB Hook's has amazing dinners, but our lunch menu is very impressive too.  The Shrimp & Oyster Bar menu items that we featured last week are available during lunchtime , which takes place between 11 am - 4 pm daily. You may dine in our bar area, the beautiful Sunset Room, or on the patio when it's nice outside.    SALADS We've got 6 incredible salads on our lunch menu, each full of fresh vegetables and other tasty ingredients. October is National Seafood Month, which is an excellent time for us since we happen to serve the best seafood at the Lake of the Ozarks . Our menu is full of delicious seafood items to choose from. In honor of this wonderful month, our next few blogs will highlight the different sections of the JB Hook's menu featuring this tasty food.
